One UI 8 Beta 5 Released: Solution to the Purple Moon Issue
A post on X (formerly Twitter) revealed that One UI 8 Beta 5 is now available for Galaxy S25 users in the UK, US, India, and Germany. The released update also includes the August 2025 security patch. One UI 8 Beta 5, which comes with software version ZYH6, has a file size of approximately 1.78 GB.
Beyond new features, the beta 5 version includes numerous bug fixes. According to Samsung’s changelog, the most notable fixes include hotspot connection issues, S Pen command exceptions, and an issue where the moon appeared purple in photos taken at 100x zoom.
Other fixes include issues such as resetting Do Not Disturb mode, Quick Settings and Notification windows overlapping, and the sudden disappearance of the “Summary Now” content. Samsung’s official list of changes is as follows:
- Fixed the hotspot connection bug
- Fixed the issue where the clock on the lock screen would shrink
- Fixed the S Pen Air command exception
- Fixed the issue where the Quick Settings window wouldn’t appear
- Fixed the issue where the Quick Settings window would overlap
- Fixed the exception when taking a screenshot in the app located in the Secure Folder
- Fixed the issue where the moon appeared purple when taking a photo at 100x zoom
- Fixed the issue where the “Summary Now” summary content disappeared
- Added SW stability with the Multi-App Update
- August security patch applied
